The South Coast consists of four small towns: San Gregorio, Pescadero, La Honda and Loma Mar. This is the southwestern most part of San Mateo County.

It boasts beautiful beaches, rolling hills, and dense forests with lovely creeks running through them. This area also features some of Northern California's breathtaking State Parks and State Beaches. Most land use is large acreage parcels; a significant amount used for agriculture. There are also quaint downtown neighborhoods and small subdivisions set up in the woods with lots of "horse property."
